USED TO
Si usa per azioni che accadevano regolarmente nel passato ma adesso non accadono piu’ , o per cose che erano vere ,ma adesso non sono piu’ vere al contrario del Past Simple che si riferisce ad una certa azione nel passato.
- My brother used to smoke, but he quit a month ago. – Mio fratello fumava, ma ha smesso un mese fa. (azione che accadeva regolarmente nel passato)
- The schoolbuilding used to be a hospital. – L’edificio della scuola una volta era un ospedale. (cosa che era vera, ma adesso non piú)
