NEW YORK CHEESECAKE
Perhaps the most famous food from New York City is its cheesecake. New York style cheesecake is very popular in the Unites States. It is a classic desert, and it is very easy to make.
Ingredients (serves 16): 1 ½ cups of Graham Craker or Oreo Cookie crumbs (you can replace them with Győri Honey flavored biscuits or if you prefer the chocolaty version with Pilóta Cookies), ¼ cup butter (melted), 1 ¼ cups sugar, 4 pkg. of Philaderphia cream cheese (softened), 2 teaspoon of vanilla, 500 grams of sour cream, 4 eggs, 2 cups of fresh strawberries (sliced)
Preparation: Preheat oven to 190 °C. Line an approximately 33×23 cm pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Mix crumbs, butter and 2 tablespoons of sugar, and press the mixture onto the bottom of the pan. Beat cream cheese, 1 cup of the remaining sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla with mixer until well blended. Add 1 cup sour cream and mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating on low speed after each, just until blended. Pour over crust. Bake 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Mix remaining sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Carefully spread over cheesecake. Bake 10 minutes, and cool completely. Refrigerate 3 hours. Use foil handles to lift cheesecake from pan before cutting to serve. Top with berries.
